Well, ladies
Every third video on my feed right now is someone hanging from a bar and calling it life-changing. Ignored it for a month. Then I tried it.
Need to back up though. Went out Wednesday. A friend's birthday thing that was supposed to be one drink and turned into four.
Four nights out this month that started as one drink. I am forty-five and I keep doing this to myself. At some point it stops being spontaneous and starts being a pattern.
Woke up Thursday feeling like my skeleton had filed a formal complaint. Still had a 7 AM client. That is the deal I made with my life and I keep making it.
She is 48. Desk job. Nine hours in a chair most days. Came in saying her shoulders felt welded to her ears.
We tried the dead hang. There is a pull-up bar bolted to the wall in my studio and most of my clients pretend it is not there.
Told her to grab it. Keep her feet on the ground. Lean her weight into her hands and let her arms take it.
Surgery Won’t Fix Your Leaky Bladder (But This 7-Second Ritual Will)
My name is Dr. Sarah Pachtman Shetty and I want you to know that you’ve been lied to when it comes to pee leaks.
Let’s bust some myths:
❌ “It's normal after kids/getting older.”
It's COMMON, not normal. And common means it can be fixed.
❌ “You need surgery to fix it.”
Surgery is expensive, scary, and doesn’t really fix the root cause.
❌ “You just have a small bladder, it must run in the family.”
No it doesn’t. That’s just an excuse doctors make up to avoid treating you.
Your bladder CAN be reset in just 7 seconds a day. You don’t need invasive surgery, annoying kegels or toxic pills.
I made a free video showing you exactly how:

Not a full hang. Just hold on and let gravity pull.
Nine seconds. That was it. Her face was something. Not pain. Surprise.
She looked at me like I had tricked her. I told her that is just her body remembering it has a top half.
She could feel it in her hands, up her forearms, all the way into her mid-back. Nine seconds and her whole upper body woke up like it had been waiting to be asked. 🙌
Then I went. Former pro athlete. I coach this for a living. My grip gave out at seventeen seconds 😂 Seventeen.
So I looked into it properly. Grip strength turns out to be one of the better predictors of your overall health as you get older.
Not because hands are special. Because grip reflects everything else: muscle mass, bone density, how much your nervous system is still showing up. When grip goes, it is usually not going alone.
The dead hang itself does more than test your grip. It opens the shoulders and decompresses the spine a little. Gives your upper back a stretch you cannot really get from the floor.
Texted Clare about it Tuesday. She asked if her office door frame would work. Said sure, but lose the rings and make sure it is sturdy. She texted back three letters. Y-E-S. From Clare that is basically a proposal. 😭
Find something you can hang from. A bar, a sturdy door frame, a playground structure if you have zero shame (I have zero shame).
Grab on. Keep your feet on the ground if you need to. Let your weight sink. Ten to twenty seconds, two to three times a week.
Your grip will get better over time. Your shoulders and upper back can start to release in a way they have not in a long time. Most women I train cannot believe they were not doing this already.
Sonia is going to read this and text me something about needing to sit with it first. I love her but the bar does not require a journaling session.
Ten seconds. Start there.
